Hong Kong-born conductor and pianist Peggy Wu is currently a Jette Parker Artist at the Royal Opera House. In the 2024/25 season, she made her Royal Opera conducting debut in the Linbury Theatre with Telemann’s Pimpinone and her main stage debut conducting scenes from Luisa Miller and Il barbiere di Siviglia. In the 25/26 season, she returns to the Linbury Theatre to conduct Tales of Love and Loss, featuring contemporary works by Elizabeth Maconchy, Charlotte Bray and Elena Langer. A conducting fellow of the Royal Philharmonic Society Conductors Programme and a semi-finalist in the International Conducting Competition Rotterdam, Peggy has worked with leading orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Scottish Ensemble, Sinfonia Rotterdam, Berlin Sinfonietta and Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra.
